OUR PURPOSE
We exist to: encounter God, encourage others, engage the community, & equip for kingdom work.
The South Lakewood Way is the vision for SLBC. It is rooted in 2 Biblical commands given by God to His churches - Love God and Love People. We want to see everyone at SLBC walk through this process.
The South Lakewood Way gives direction and purpose to the love we enrich, develop, and share:
The vertical beam of the cross focuses on loving God.

ENCOUNTER GOD - This is where our process starts. We desire to worship God every time we are together. We want everyone who connects with our church family to encounter God too - to find Jesus and learn what it means to follow Him. This is how the journey of faith begins. It is the first step for every one of us.

ENCOURAGE OTHERS - When our church comes together, we worship God and encourage one another. We are not built to walk through this life alone. We need a community of faith around us to help us walk through the difficulties of life. We pray that this encourages each other emotionally & spiritually in the rhythms of our church.

EQUIP FOR KINGDOM WORK - God has called us to something so much bigger than ourselves. He calls us to share the good news of the gospel with others, so we can see the Kingdom of Jesus expand here on earth, as it is in Heaven. Because we have encountered Him, because we love Him, we choose to serve Him. Our church exists to realize this purpose, and to help you do the same!
